William G. Payne

Bill was born and raised in Oklahoma City, OK. He graduated from Washington and Lee University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting. He then worked three years in Atlanta for Arthur Andersen in its tax and audit divisions. Bill graduated with distinction from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management in 1993 as a member of Beta Gamma Sigma honors society. He spent the next nine years working for Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette/Credit Suisse First Boston in both the New York and Dallas investment banking offices as a senior vice president. In 2002, he co-founded Bluffview Capital, LP, a boutique investment bank, and in 2006, co-founded Family Access Exchange II, LP, an investment management firm focused on making alternative investments for family offices. He currently manages Druid Hills Capital, LLC, an investment management firm focused on a wide range of public and private investments. Bill has served on multiple public and private corporate and non-profit boards and currently sits on the boards of Washington and Lee University, Teach for America DFW, The Lamplighter School, Leadership ISD and the W.C. Payne Foundation. Bill and his wife Wendy live in Dallas and have five children: Katie Payne (Duke ’18), Whit Payne (Vanderbilt ’21), Blake Poston (SMU ’15), Margot Poston (Texas Tech ’17) and Michael Poston (Highland Park ’14).
